Design for St. Helena Public Library
The St. Helena Public Library needed a new website that would allow them to publicize their many services as well as provide basic information for library patrons.
Since the library is used heavily by children and teens, we decided to make the overall design of the site clean but playful. A grid-based layout supports the presentation of a great deal of information in a way that does not overwhelm the visitor.
Because the information contained on the site is so extensive, we used multiple menu layers to organize the material. An important adjunct to the funds provided by the City of St. Helena are the funds and efforts of the Friends of the St. Helena Public Library. To support this effort, we developed an online application and donation section for the website.
