Design for Napa Valley Wine Library
Napa Valley Wine Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and disseminating information on viticulture, enology and wine lore, particularly as it pertains to the Napa Valley. They support a collection of books and other documents relating to wine and to the history of wine, and hold fund raising activities to support this collection and other educational programs.
Because the Napa Valley Wine Library's major source of funds is membership dues, the site needed to highlight membership benefits. This was done through home page content plus an Events section that featured photos and descriptions of past events and promotional materials for upcoming events.
To fulfill their educational mission, the Napa Valley Wine Library publishes a twice-yearly REPORT that provides articles on viticulture and enology, write-ups of events, and general information about the organization. Previously, these REPORTs had been published only in print form. An important requirement for the site was to offer these REPORTs online, organized in such a way that the information is easily accessible by visitors.
