I’m Here To Help. Really!

If you've made it this far, you've found the Wine Country Web Design Blog. Since this is the first post in this particular blog, I should explain who we are and what we're going to be talking about here.

Who We Are

Wine Country Web Design is a design company located in St. Helena, CA, in the heart of the Napa Valley (California's premier wine area). The company is primarily one person (me). We do web design, graphics, illustration, custom applications and Search Engine Optimization. If you want to know more about us, check out our About page.

Wine Country Web Design is actually a new name for an existing business. I have been doing business for some time as Vintagefactor, which is actually the name of my company. There were several problems with the previous arrangement:

  • Vintagefactor is the umbrella company for several businesses, so we ran into confusion about just which business we were talking about.
  • When you see the name Vintagefactor, web design doesn't really spring to mind. We needed something more descriptive.

What Is This Blog About?

This blog is intended for people who need a website. Primarily businesses and non-profit organizations.

So the posts are going to be slanted toward what real-life organizations need to consider when developing or re-working a website.

Because of where we're located, a lot of our clients are connected somehow to the wine industry. As a result, the articles may show a wine industry bias. But the fact is that web design for the wine industry is not really different from web design for any other industry.

How We're Going To Start

The first few posts are going to be re-posts of articles I did for the Vintagefactor blog. I think that these are still very relevant, and they're a good place to start.

But then we'll quickly start on new topics.

Come along for the ride!

PS: If you have specific topics you'd like me to cover, let me know in a comment.
